Councillor Mugglstone declared a non prejudicial interest as a member of the Leicester Theatre Trust Board.

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO NOTE

 

Under the law, the Cabinet is entitled to consider certain items in private.  Members of the public will be asked to leave the meeting when such items are discussed.

 

The Cabinet is recommended to consider the following reports in private on the grounds that they contain ‘exempt’ information as defined by the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, and consequently that the Cabinet makes the following resolution:-

 

“that the press and public be excluded during consideration of the following reports in accordance with the provisions of Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, because they involve the likely disclosure of 'exempt' information, as defined in the Paragraphs detailed below of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.”

The amount of any expenditure proposed to be incurred by the authority under any particular contract for the acquisition of property or the supply og goods or services

PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE - PROJECT PROGRESS AND KEY DECISIONS

Councillor Mugglestone submits a report.

Minutes:

The chair outlined the budget process for Ward Community meetings.  He made the following points:

  • Councillors were legally responsible for making formal decisions on budget spending, but these would be discussed with the public in these meetings.
  • Three funds were available
    • Ward Priority Fund £7000– to spend on the priorities identified in the Ward Action Plan.
    • Community Fund £3000 – to spend on small community-based projects.
    • Community Cohesion Fund £2000 – to bring people together in the community, build links with young people and build confidence and a sense of belonging.
  • It was anticipated that the money available would increase next year by about £5000.
  • Detailed guidelines and application forms were available for any groups who wished to apply.
  • The Community Meeting would make recommendations on projects they wished to fund and this would be then agreed by Cabinet or the Cabinet Lead Member responsible for Community meetings to approve it.
