The Director of SEND and Education submits a report to update the Commission on Leicester City Council's SEND Reform Plan, which was submitted to the Department for Education (DfE) in June 2026. The Plan sets out how Leicester's local area partnership, jointly led by Leicester City Council and the Integrated Care Board (ICB), will transform services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) over the next three years in response to national reforms.

The Strategic Director of Social Care and Education submits a report providing an update on performance in social care and education and information on monitoring and improving quality.

The Strategic Director of Social Care and Education submits a report providing an update following a two-day Ofsted Focused visit to the council’s children’s services Leaving Care Team held on 17 and 18 March 2026. 

The Director of Children’s Social Care, Early Help and Prevention submits a report to inform the Commission that, as part of the Inspection of Local Authority Children’s Services (ILACS) framework, the local authority is required to produce an annual Self-Evaluation Form (SEF). The SEF provides an assessment of the quality, impact and effectiveness of services delivered to children, young people and families.

The Strategic Director for Social Care and Education submits a report to provide an update on year one of the five-year Youth Justice Plan 2025-30 highlighting strategic and operational priorities.

Members of the Commission will be asked to consider the work programme and make suggestions for additional items as it considers necessary.
