To approve statutory proposals for the proposed expansion of Ellesmere College and Nether Hall Special School. The proposals, if approved would create additional pupil places.

The implementation of the expansion proposals be approved, namely;

i)          Ellesmere College will enlarge its capacity from its current capacity of 286 to 366 with effect from 1 September 2021. This will be achieved by the refurbishment of the satellite site at The Rowans.

ii)         Nether Hall Special School will enlarge its capacity from its current capacity of 110 to 140 with effect from 1 September 2021. This will be achieved by the refurbishment of the satellite site at The Armadale Centre.

On the basis that there have been no representations to the statutory notice to implement the proposals, the commentary set out in the report, and statutory considerations.

1     Reject the implementation of the proposals;

2     Approve the implementation of the proposals;

3     Approve the proposals with a revision (e.g. the implementation date); or

4     Approve the proposals subject to them meeting a specific condition.
