Purpose:

To approval/sign off the Statement of Common Ground which was reported to the Members’ Advisory Group on 11th Feb relating to Housing and Employment Land Needs (March 2021).

Decision:

Approve and sign off the Statement of Common Ground that was agreed at Members Advisory Group on 11th Feb for approval and sign off by individual authorities. The Statement of Common Ground has been prepared by Leicestershire authorities to support Charnwood’s Local Plan and continue to work together to accommodate any unmet need that arises within the Housing Market Area.

Reasons for the decision:

The Statement of Common Ground  shows a commitment to ongoing strategic partnership work on cross boundary matters such as housing and employment. Leicestershire authorities have been working together on the Statement of Common Ground to address housing and employment unmet need. Since the 35% uplift announcement, a new Statement of Common Ground has now been agreed by the Members Advisory Group to support Charnwood’s Plan and a commitment  to work together to address unmet need in the Housing Market Area.
