The existing school is on a restricted site with very limited scope for expansion, so a second satellite site has been sought.  The intended expansion will be achieved by the refurbishment of The Knighton Fields Centre, Herrick Road, Leicester, LE2 6DH.   This is an existing Leicester City Council building which will accommodate the additional numbers.

The implementation of the expansion proposal be approved, namely;

Ellesmere College will enlarge its capacity by 60 pupils with effect from 1 September 2021. This will be achieved by the refurbishment of the satellite site at The Knighton Field Centre.

On the basis that there have been no representations to the statutory notice to implement the proposal, the commentary set out in the report, and statutory considerations.

1 - Reject the implementation of the proposals;

2 - Approve the implementation of the proposals;

3 - Approve the proposals with a revision (e.g. the implementation date); or

4 - Approve the proposals subject to them meeting a specific condition.
