Reasons for the decision:

To refurbish the Pilot House complex at King Street to create a landmark 60,000 sq ft workspace to support the growth of the creative industries sector in the city and the regeneration of the surrounding area.

Alternative options:

A series of different options for developing the building have been considered over several years. This scheme maximises the use of external funding from the government to deliver much needed additional workspace.
