To provide funds to replace the Education IT system.

To release £2.2million capital from the agreed policy provision “Education System Retender” for the procurement and implementation of the Education Information Management System.

The education management information systems holds information about Leicester’s children and their education provision and support.   A re-procurement exercise has been undertaken because the current contracts are due to end in 2024. This robust and detailed process has identified providers for the systems. The release of this policy provision will enable the new contracts to be finalised and the systems implemented. 

Prior to the full procurement exercise a soft market test identified other providers of education systems beyond the current contract holder.  A full competitive re-tender exercise was required to comply with legislation.
