To seek approval to accept funding for the delivery of three Skills Bootcamps across Leicester and Leicestershire.

That the Deputy City Mayor:

(i) accepts Department for Education (DfE) funding of £700,000 for Skills Bootcamps, and

(ii)  approves for the City Council to act as Accountable body for this funding.

This project will support training for unemployed and employed individuals to upskill themselves in range of subjects across digital marking; cyber security and highways which will help grow the economy and create further employment opportunities for the individuals.

To do nothing, would limit the support available to residents to grow, develop and gain new skills which in turn will increase employment and jobs supporting Leicester’s economy.
