A decision whether to revise the 2024-2025 Post 16 TPS under s 509AE of the Education Act 1996.

To approve:

The revision of the 2024-2025 Post 16 TPS under s 509AE of the Education Act 1996.

To replace the currently published version of the Post 16 Travel Policy Statement 2024-2025 in Appendix 1 of the LMB report pack with Appendix 3, the document entitled DRAFT Proposed Revised Post-16 Transport Policy Statement 2024-2025 v0.4. The version entitled Final Revised Post-16 Transport Policy Statement 2024-2025 v1.1 is the version intended for publication. This is the same as Appendix 3 but with highlighted changes removed.

This reverts the policy back to the version for the 2023-2024 academic year. The effect being that there will continue to be no change to post 16 SEND Transport provision in the 2024-2025 academic year.

To satisfy statutory obligations and provide clear information for stakeholders.

Option 1:       

Do nothing. This is liable to result in further confusion for stakeholders as the online TPS doesn’t reflect what the council is doing in practice.

Option 2:       

Revise the 2024-2025 Post 16 TPS as per the proposed draft (recommended).
