To seek approval to proceed with the sale of the Martin House, The Cottage, 339 London Road, Leicester, LE2 3JX on a 1:1 basis.
To approve the sale of: Martin House, The Cottage, 339 London Road, Leicester, LE2 3JX on a one-to-one basis to the adjacent property owners Sant Nirankari Mandal UK, for £400,000.
To dispose of surplus property no longer required by the Council for its functions.
To meet best consideration in its disposal decisions and meet its fiduciary duty in line with S123 of the Local Government Act 1972 both internal and external valuations were undertaken.
The site is in a dilapidated state, the site was considered for auction on the open market. However, given the adjacency and shared access, plus an interest in purchasing from the adjacent landowner a one-to-one disposal was considered preferable and the offer met S.123 of the Local Government Act 1972.
To ensure best financial consideration under S.123 of the Local Government Act 1972 both internal and external valuation were undertaken.
