Decision:

To enter into the Joint Working Agreement for the sale of land owned by the City Council (approx. 5.17 hectares) and land owned by Gateway College (approx. 8.73 hectares) at the former Blackbird Rd Playing Fields, and to progress the joint sale.

Reasons for the decision:

The decision is a continuation of established working arrangements with Gateway which have facilitated their new college. The value of the Blackbird Rd land is optimised by the two parties working together and a sale will produce a capital receipt for the Council.

Alternative options:

The option of not progressing a sale has been considered but this would be difficult given the long established working arrangements with Gateway. Also, not continuing with working arrangements is likely to result in a deferred or reduced capital receipt.
