Consultation on a range of proposed changes to secure savings. The consultation closed on 14^th January 2013 and responses are now being analysed and responses considered..

(1)  To remove discretionary transport to VA and faith based schools from September 2013 – statutory requirement for low income TO remain.

(2)  To remove discretionary Post 16 Transport from September 2013. Those who are currently eligible and already on a course will continue to receive assistance with transport costs until their current course ends up to a maximum of two years.

(3)  To remove discretionary Post 16 SEN Transport from September 2013.  Those who are currently eligible and already on a course will continue to receive assistance with transport costs until their current course ends up to a maximum of two years. 

Budgetary pressures require budget to be utilised to protect maintain statutory duties. 

Options as set out in accompanying report including – Removal of all discretionary transport for Post 16 and Post 16 SEN students without concession for current to complete courses.
