Purpose:
To ensure council housing and the estates are kept in good repair and to improve energy efficiency for tenants.
Decision:
1. To add £2.4m of repair and improvement schemes to the 2015/16 capital programme as approved by Council in February 2015.
2. To release £0.5m from the External Wall Insulation policy provision into the main programme.
Reasons for the decision:
To ensure council housing and the estates are kept in good repair and to improve energy efficiency for tenants.
Alternative options:
The available funds could be invested in any aspect of work on the council stock eg the Decent Homes Programme, new build or added to the Major Repairs Fund for later investment. These options are reviewed annually in the HRA Budget and Rent setting decision.
