CAPITAL BUDGET MONITORING OUTTURN - 2016/17

Decision Maker: City Mayor (Individual Decision)

Decision status: Recommendations approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to show the position of the capital programme at the end of the 2016/17 financial year.

This is the fourth and final report of the financial year.

Decision:

1.   To approve the carry-forward of resources into 2017/18 for schemes that have been re-profiled (£21.697m) and schemes where spend has slipped (£4.982m) as described in the attached report;

2.   To approve the addition of £1.2m to the highways maintenance budget in 2017/18, funded by additional resources secured from the Department for Transport (as described in Appendix E, Para 2.9 of the attached report)

Reasons for the decision:

At the end of each year, the Executive and Overview and Select Committee receive a report on the capital outturn for the previous year.  As a consequence of the outturn, some spending originally planned for 2016/17 will now take place in later years, and resources need to be carried forward in order to meet the future cost.  The decision also approves the release of funds to support certain capital expenditure in 2017/18.
