WARD COUNCILLORS FEEDBACK Councillors will provide an update on ward information and this will include the local plan. Minutes: The ward councillors updated the meeting on the following: · The foodbank on Bonchurch Street would be moving to Fosse Neighbourhood Centre Annexes. The centre would still be operating on the same days to provide for 120 families. The first 6 months would be rent free and then reviewed. A thank you meal would be organised for the volunteers in the near future. · An Alice Hawkins Blue Plaque would be funded by the ward budget would be put up and displayed on 8th March 2023, International Women’s Day. · The Local Plan on how the land in the city would be used for housing, residential and employment needs recently went to the meeting of the Full Council. The final consultation on the plan would start in January 2023. The plan consisted of 39400 new dwellings, and 23 hectors of land would be located from the county to support the dwellings. Plans were to optimise brown fields. With 71% on brown fields and 29% on green fields. |

HIGHWAYS UPDATE Highways officers will give an update on highways issues in the Ward. Minutes: Highways Network Asset Manager, Rupert Bedder, gave an update on Highways matters in the ward: · Footway repairs and gully replacements on Mantle Road were delayed and due to start in the new year. · The fence on Groby Road had been repaired and replaced with a metal fence. · New markings were the correct length for enforcements outside Fosse Mead Primary Academy. · The Residents Parking Scheme in Woodgate consulted in March/April 2022. The overall responses received were 13% from residents and businesses. 46% were in favour of the parking scheme. In January 2023 a soft consultation TRO would be held to ensure it would be what residents and businesses want. · Residents of Tudor Road were also consulted on a parking scheme, only 6.5% of residents and businesses responded. After an analysation was completed no clear pattern was found. It can be revisited in the future if required. · The A50/Five ways contract to start construction was expected to be on site in January 2023. · An announcement on the Buckminster Road closure was due to be announced in early 2023. There had been a reduction of around 2000 vehicles per day. Residents believed there had been an increase in traffic. |

LOCAL POLICING UPDATE Officers from Leicestershire Police will be at the meeting to provide an update on police issues in the Ward. Minutes: Unfortunately the Police were not able to be present at the meeting. |

WARD COMMUNITY BUDGET UPDATE Councillors are reminded that under the Council’s Code of Conduct they should declare any interest they may have in budget applications
Minutes: Since the last ward meeting a total number of 10 Ward applications, and local projects had been supported. This takes the total spent to £12,968.00 with £5398.00 remaining in the budget to be used by the of February 2023. Councillors were reminded that no funding could be carried over this financial year due to Local elections in May 2023.
