The Lord Mayor invited Members to declare any interests they may have in the business on the agenda.

The Monitoring Officer advised Councillors in relation to potential interests they may have in Leicester City Football Club if they were, for example a season ticket holder. He noted that this wasn’t likely to be a prejudicial interest but suggested that Members may wish to put any personal connections with the Club on record.

The City Mayor declared that he was a season ticket holder.

Councillor Barton declared that she had season ticket holders in the family, she was a Member of Leicester City Football Club and had involvement the Foxes Trust and Foxes Pride.

Moved by the City Mayor, seconded by Deputy City Mayor Councillor Clair and carried:

That the City Council under and by virtue of the provisions of Section 249 (5) of the Local Government Act 1972 confers on Leicester City Football Club the Honorary Freedom of the City of Leicester and causes them to be admitted as Honorary Freeman of said City in recognition of the honour and distinction brought to the city by their sporting achievements and in appreciation of their commitment to community including the development and role of sport within the city’s communities.

The Lord Mayor declared the meeting closed at 5.20pm
