TERMS OF REFERENCE
SCRUTINY COMMITTEE:
HEALTH
The
committee will scrutinise Leicester’s Primary Care Trusts and
other health care bodies to ensure that health care services are
provided. It will also seek to ensure
that local people are involved as appropriate under the NHS Reform
Act and that matters referred by patients’ fora are
addressed.
The Committee will scrutinise:
§
Provision and operation of hospital and community health
services
§
Public health, health promotion and health improvement
§
Planning of health services to improve health and the provision of
health care
§
Community engagement by the PCTs and other NHS bodies in the
city
§
The Council’s functions as they impact on health
§
Matters referred by patients’ fora.
