27/07/2021 - Leicester Biodiversity Action Plan 2021-2031 - Adoption as Informal Guidance ref: 1212    Recommendations Approved

To adopt the Leicester Biodiversity Action Plan 2021-2031 recognising the opportunities for biodiversity to be integral to sustainable living and central to achieving net gains in biodiversity across the city.

Decision:

1.    To adopt the Leicester Biodiversity Action Plan 2021-2031 as Informal Guidance to provide an over-arching framework for habitat and species conservation in Leicester.

 

2.    To share and promote the documents on the council’s website and to engage with other parts of the council, elected members, partners and stakeholders to ensure the implementation of the Action Plan priorities and achievement of the BAP targets in species and habitat conservation.

 

3.    To publish a summary document for Members and the wider public on the importance of Biodiversity and the priorities and targets in the Biodiversity Action Plan 2021-2031.

23/07/2021 - GREEN HOMES GRANT FUNDING ref: 1210    Recommendations Approved

To add the Green Homes Grant funding to the General Fund and HRA Capital Programmes to support the delivery of low carbon and renewable energy efficient measures to domestic dwellings in the City.

Decision:

a)    That £1.225m is added to the 2021/22 General Fund capital programme to fund grants (and associated administration costs) to owner occupied and privately rented dwellings, financed from the Green Homes Grant.

 

b)    That £1.8m is added to the 2021/22 HRA capital programme to fund the installation of energy efficient measures to council homes, with £900k being financed from the Green Homes Grant and £900k from HRA reserves.
