As a community we feel that the current state of the basketball court situated in Victoria Park is not representative of the strong, vibrant basketball community that exists within Leicester. Basketball court renovations in other locations such as London have been found to be very successful and with such a large basketball community, particularly near the University of Leicester, we feel that a renovation of the basketball court in Victoria Park would significantly benefit this community. Furthermore, the current state of the basketball court in Victoria Park is unsafe for players. At a minimum, the court should provide players with necessary traction and even playing surface to ensure player’s safety.
