I am writing to express my concern regarding the lime trees along Ascot Road, Leicester. We have previously attempted to raise a “Love Leicester” street cleaning ticket to request trimming of these trees, due to the ongoing nuisance and damage they cause. Unfortunately, the request was rejected and the ticket closed without resolution.
These lime trees present a health and safety hazard throughout the year. During the summer months, the trees secrete a sticky residue that damages vehicles and makes the footpaths hazardous. In the winter, the fallen leaves create a slippery surface across the highway and pavements, increasing the risk of slips and falls.
The issue is persistent and is now causing damage to property and vehicles, as well as creating unsafe conditions for pedestrians. I urge you to treat this matter with urgency and arrange for the trees to be trimmed on a regular basis to prevent further problems.
If you are not the appropriate contact for this matter, I would appreciate it if you could advise me on the correct department or escalate this request accordingly.
